The BigCommerce checkout is integrated with our payment processors and we do not have access to and never see your credit card in any of the transaction process that takes place during checkout including if you choose to save your payment method to your account. The card information is encrypted and sent directly to the payment processor for approval or storage using a tokenization process. Basically, we only ever see a minimum set of information about the card itself and an approval or rejection from the card company to help with things like fraud reviews. Because of this setup, our database systems do not have a record of a credit card number for someone to steal.
